These short stories of Little Robot’s adventures first appeared on Art and Adventure, author and illustrator Ben Hatke’s website. They inspired his upcoming graphic novel, Little Robot, which features an all-new version of the robot star of these strips. Ben Hatke is the author of the New York Times bestselling Zita the Spacegirl trilogy, as well as the picture book Julia’s House for Lost Creatures. In addition to writing and drawing comics, he paints in the naturalist tradition and performs one-man fire shows.
Page 7 is my favourite.
I bought the original of Page 7 for my wife for Valentine’s Day a while back when Ben was selling them. I really want Page 17 with all the lemons. I don’t think I bought it, but who knows, maybe it will surprise me when I go look at my little pile of things to be framed. One can always hope.
