We are thrilled to announce that #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy author Brandon Sanderson is touring for the upcoming release of Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection (on sale Nov. 22)! Sanderson’s first compilation of short fiction, Arcanum Unbounded includes a total of nine works: novellas and short stories set in the Shardworlds, the worlds of Stormlight, Mistborn, Elantris, and others. An all-new 40,000-word Stormlight Archive novella is the crown jewel appearing in this collection for the first time anywhere!
Thus far, Publishers Weekly says, “This collection is required reading for Sanderson fans, offering plenty for new readers who are undeterred by learning too much.” And Kirkus Reviews touts “…fans of Sanderson’s other works will eagerly devour this collection, in which familiar characters return and familiar worlds are further explored.”

For the first time in my life, there’s a chance that I can go to one of these events. I am having a major fangirl meltdown.
He’s not coming to Houston this time!? I am sad.
@@@@@ 2: Maybe for is SA 3 tour. That one should be larger. Or I hope he goes back to Austin. I can swing Austin more easily than Houston. Since all the Dallas stores seem to suck.
I hope this means he will be finished with SA 3 and that it will be safely in Peter and the beta readers hands. Thus freeing him to tour and write the next thing on his list.
@@@@@ 3 – True, I’m sure(at least very hopeful!) he’ll come to Houston for SA3. We always have very large crowds here when he comes – I hope we haven’t scared him away!!!
And sheesania – if you haven’t been to a Sanderson book signing yet, you simply must go!! He’s a delight. Super warm and friendly. I’ve been fortunate enough to go to three of his signings(for each book in the Steelheart trilogy!), so I now have (almost) all of his books signed! He also loves answering questions.
Tennessee (preferably middle TN) would love to get some Sanderson attention!! I’m very excited about this collection and the SA novella!
He goes to Murder by the Book in Houston, right? My only complaint is that that store is so tiny and there’s no parking…
@Matt: Here’s what I learned about signings from Brandon’s Team.
Brandon likes to do his signing at independent bookstores. He sometimes does B&N, but really prefers to support local.
So first, you need to identify a local store that has the space for a signing event.
Then you (and a collection of friends) need to pester them with requests for signings. The stores in turn have to pester the publishers for inclusion on tour dates. And there can be some fierce competitions. Especially on limited tours like this, or for big names like Brandon.
There is a massive costs involved for the stores in terms of employee time and efforts. So they need to know that enough people will attend the signing, and buy books while there to make it worthwhile to the store.
Good luck in your quest to make it happen. I’ve had no luck in Dallas, because there are no independents with enough space to make an event happen.
I’m happy he came to Austin during the Calamity tour. I have relatives there so was able to attend.
Austin @@@@@ 6 – yup, Murder by the Book! I love the store, but agree, the parking situation is atrocious. Usually there’s some half-decent street parking nearby, but that isn’t even always assured. And since he usually comes on a work night, I can’t even come early. I always end up standing way in the back! Still, having the opportunity to meet him and talk with him is far worth the awkward venue.
Im so sad, I wish he were coming to the Detroit area….
More love here for a Texas visit. It was fantastic the last time he came to San Antonio, but I’d do either Houston or Austin too. The parking is rough for Murder By The Book, but there are some neighborhoods you can park in nearby if you don’t mind the walk… Just hope it doesn’t rain!
Darn, I’m far from those. But I’ll watch for Arcanum Unbound. Thanks for the heads-up.
It always makes me giggle sadly when reading those kind of things. It’s more than 4000 miles to NY from where I live, even to London more than 1000 miles as the bird flies, so my chances of going on a signing tour … yeah. I’ll go to my room now and cry a bit.
How do I get tickets for the Seattle one?? Can’t find anything on the University Bookstore site listed :(
Is there any chance of you coming to the UK?
