Begun in 1953, the Hugo Award is the premiere award for the science fiction and fantasy genres, often strived for by authors and their publishers alike for its prestige and its effect on book sales.
In this series, author and Tor.com book reviewer Jo Walton takes a look at the Hugo Award winners and nominees year by year, revisiting (but not rereading) them through the lens of history and discussing their merits. Ultimately, do the Hugo Awards really represent the best of science fiction and fantasy?
Just want to thank Jo Walton for these spots (and others) always interesting and intelligent.
FYI: the link to 1968 is wrong, and goes to “Saturday Morning Cartoons”.
Now the text link is right, but the link on the image is to 1967 instead of 1968.
is there a second page i am having trouble finding or has this series come to an abrupt halt?
i have really been enjoying this series of posts, both jo’s recap and analysis, and the readers comments that follow. After being semi-regular it has been months since an update, anything?
kleve,
Jo is posting them every Sunday, but this page is not being updated. Try the search box with “hugo nominees” or looking through the Latest Posts >> Show All list near the top of the right column.
thanks mark
