Were you disappointed when Ron D. Moore didn’t name you as one of the Final Five Cylons? Did you feel a little let down when you came up human again and again while playing the BSG board game? This is your lucky day. If you or someone whom you can bribe or guilt who loves you is adept with a pair of knitting needles, then you can become a warm and happy Cylon Centurion.
The pattern was created by a rather creative knitter who goes by the name “Wonderfallz” on her blog and on Ravelry. She’s kindly posted the pattern on her blog and shared the pattern as a PDF on Google Docs. The pattern is for intermediate to advanced knitters and includes recommended brands and color combinations to get the proper gray/silver effect.
Strike fear in the hearts of anyone on the Twelve Worlds and keep your ears warm all winter long!
Wonderfallz has also knitted her uncle a stormtrooper hat, but there’s no pattern forthcoming for that one. If you really want one, though, you might try contacting her on Etsy.
RuthX is a mild-mannered librarian by day who serves the dread lord Cthulhu after dark and somehow has two sets of BSG dogtags.
*gasp* If I wore this with my EXTERMINATE t-shirt, would the world implode with coolness? I think so.
SO many buckets of awesome! Well done!
Oh, I can be bribed – I mean I am so cool. I can make me a hat. ;-)
@Milo1313 if you wore that to a con, you just might make a few heads explode with your awesome. :)
@Ruth: Just think what would happen if I wore that cylon knit cap over my Jayne knit cap. Chaos indeed.
This is AWESOME!!! I love geek knits! :)
As a knitter and a science fiction and fantasy fan (and a Ravelry member), I’m so glad to see you acknowledging the huge crossover between the two. There are knitting geeks and science fiction and fantasy geeks, and the two often meet, as illustrated by the huge number of dissucsion boards dedicated to Doctor Who, Harry Potter and other sff fandoms at Ravelry. There is a large selection of sff-themed knit patterns in the database over there, as well.
@missattitude I tend to get overwhelmed by the SFF fandom boards on Ravelry, but I love popping by them periodically to look for cool new projects. :)
