Long delayed, this Joss Whedon-written, Drew Goddard-directed horror project is finally coming! We all know who Whedon is, but Drew Goodard’s pedigree includes writing for Buffy, Angle, the film Cloverfield and more. Oh yeah, and Chris”Thor/George Kirk” Hemsworth is in it too. Who’s pumped?

Whedon-Penned The Cabin in the Woods Trailer Hits
“There is an art to smiling in a way that others will believe. It is always important to include the eyes; otherwise, people will know you hate them.”
N.K. Jemisin, The Fifth Season
This appears as if it may turn several of the Teen Horror tropes on their ears. The trailer definitely took a twist I wasn’t expecting.
I’m going to list this under “tentatively interested”
Fromm the writer of Cloverfield. That’s one reason to stay away.
I’m pumped! My favorite Whedon’s always been self-aware humor-horror Whedon, after all.
Please could someone get Stubby (and some of the other Tor.com columnists) a proof-reader? Is it Drew Goddard or Goodard (with only one of each it’s hard to tell which is right) , and ‘Angle’… c’mon people!
Hmm, this is different. Interesting premise. But will it be a well-crafted story, or just another mindless slasher?
@PJP – I’m guessing you aren’t very familiar with Whedon’s work? I would totally bet my left anything that this will be a VERY well crafted story. Will it be handled well by Drew Goddard (of whom my opinion is middling to low) waits to be seen, but I’m quite sure that whatever Whedon contributed will be basically brilliant.
@@.-@ – it is Goddard. Goodard must have been a typo.
