Too freaking cool!
So much fun!
That is so cool! And what an amazing view even without the Enterprise!
These shots came out fantastic, Irene. That was a once in a lifetime experience.
Nice pics!
Everyone was running to the windows in the office here (a bit farther north in Manhattan than Tor), too.
Gorgeous photos, Irene! I’m surprised the roof party wasn’t bigger, though.
I SAW IT TOO I SAW IT TOO
this is the best thing that has happened to me all year you guys. we have been blessed by the double space bird!
Gratz! That’s awesome!
Great Pictures… how cool
I look like The Slender Man back there.
(…BECAUSE I AM THE SLENDER MAN!)
I won’t lie, I kind of wanted to lose my hat to the wind. Enterprise forever!

Here’s the best shot from my collection. It was incredible!
Wow, you got to see history unfolding up close and personal. Too cool, Ryan.
@12 Wow! Beautiful shot.
Nice pictures Stubby. Anyone know when/how they plan to get the shuttle to the Intrepid?
Probably by barge… Ay?
As the US Shuttle program has now settled into the past it will be interesting to see where the NASA COTS program, Virgin Galactic, and Planetary Resources lead us over the next 5 years…
Hopefully they will lay the foundation for journies to many new worlds.
Thank you for the blog post… wish I could have been there. I look forward to going to the Intrepid some day.
Mike
SFBCMatthew,
That’s amazing! I have lens envy!
Anybody else think the shuttle would have looked way cooler strapped to Stubby’s back? Seriously, though, I’m jealous :/
This kind of things wont happen in our country~ :(

Naturally. :-)
Far Out! I am so old that I remember seeing the Enterprise rolled out. In fact I remember reading about the plans for a space shuttle a decade or so before that. Fireball XL5 was one of my favourite shows when I was 6. These lovely photos made my heart beat a little faster. Thanks for posting them.
