Run, Paul & Storm, run like the wind.
During a performance at Wootstock on Thursday night, nerdy folk duo Paul & Storm summoned the very subject of their Song of Ice and Fire themed song “Write Like The Wind (George R. R. Martin)” With deadly results.
Watch the video, taken by Veronica Belmont, of the whole thing below. GRRM really commits to his vengeance and it is kind of the best thing ever. Then someone else shows up to reign in Paul & Storm and it somehow becomes even more of the best thing ever.
We’re…gonna stop asking when The Winds of Winter is coming out from now on.
DYING laughing.
Awesome.
This is the best thing I’ve seen this week. I love it.
Was this staged? I’m leaning toward yes, but I’m not 100% certain…
From the look of the bassist when he ran off when they saw him coming, I think so.
Staged or not, it’s absoultely awesome! I love it.
In addition, all I got to say in re. Martin’s writing speed, is try being a fan of King’s Dark Tower, we had to wait through nearly six years PER BOOK. and a near death experience to get OUR 7 book series finished.
Awww. That’s really cute. I’ve never been to W00tstock. One of these Comic-Cons…
That this was filmed by Sword and Laser’s Veronica Belmont is the cherry on top of this delightful treat.
I have to assume it was staged – I can’t quite convince myself that even GRRM would bust up someone’s guitar like that without permission, or that anyone else would let him bust up their favorite guitar with no more fight than that…
It’s a catchy enough tune. I will evermore refer to GRRM as “The great bearded glacier.”
Oh, I’m sure it was staged. No less beautiful, though.
that “someone else” is writer neil gaiman, a friend of martin’s.
