Awards season is upon us, with nominations open for both the Hugos and Nebulas. With nomination deadlines coming up in February and March, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of Tor.com’s awards-eligible works from 2014.
We are tremendously proud of our authors, illustrators, and editors for creating such wonderful novellas, novelettes, short stories, graphic stories, and illustrations this year. We hope that you will nominate your favorite stories for the Hugos, Nebulas, and other upcoming awards which honor outstanding works of science fiction, fantasy, and horror—but most of all, we hope that you have enjoyed reading these works as much as we have!
As a reminder, you can download our free anthology Some of the Best From Tor.com from your favorite ebook retailer.

Is “A Long Spoon” by Jonathan Howard eligible? I don’t see it in the list.
Thanks for the heads-up, we’re adding it in now.
I’d add All Together Now—A Zombie Story , author Robert Kent to the list. An outstanding read!
Bit belated, but Jubilee by Karl Schroeder is listed as a short story, but by my count (by pasting it in to a word processor and asking for a word count), it’s 9426 words, which qualifies it as Novelette. (Weird coincidence: my captcha on this post is “verga”, while Karl Schroeder writes the Virga books. ;))
What Makes This Book So Great by Jo Walton was one of the first things I thought of when filling out my ballot. I loved that book! And having all the essays collected in book form was the important part.
I picked it up from the library and then bought it just because I wanted to keep refering back to it.
